Ghostbusters – Unpopped Review

Ghostbusters definitely has a different tone than the 1984 original. Luckily, all involved bring enough uniqueness and laughter to the film so it can defy the haters and stand on its on as a good film.
Sometimes a film, no matter how much love is involved, fails to meet expectations. That’s where I jump in and break down “The Good,” “The Ehh” and “The Ugh-ly.” My purpose is to try to determine how the film succeeded and how it could have been better. I believe that this process can elevate the film industry and make the film going experience better for all.

And I have almost the exact opposite. I think I was just so happy that it wasn’t a complete disaster that I graded it higher than I probably should. Thinking on it now I would probably rate it a little lower… but not much. Mainly that’s because if you take out the Ghostbusters and gadgets, then it was still a funny movie. And now-a-days when all comedies are usually really really terrible, this is a welcome addition. That is mainly why I stick by my grade, although I could see it falling more in the future.

I’m having a weird experience since I saw this film. The video I just posted was recorded about an hour after I got home. Now I’ve had a day or so to settle, I am feeling much more sympathetic about it.
I totally stand by my specific criticisms, but overall I’d be perfectly okay with sitting through this again. And I couldn’t agree with you more about Kate McKinnon.
