Viewing The Fast & Furious Movies

The “Fast & Furious” (F&F) franchise is one of the most profitable franchises in Hollywood. According to the site, The Numbers, the franchise had made over one and a half billion dollars stateside and over five billion dollars worldwide. And it doesn’t look like it will slow down soon. There are plans for two more parts in this series for a total of ten. After that, rumors have been floating around that the characters from the franchise may break off into their own movie(s)/movie series. Only time will tell.

When you watch the movies, it can be seen that the quality of the movies (namely, the action) have gotten better over time. But with the big budgets, the huge amounts of monies made and the over the top action, what is the best way to watch this series? Some may think that watching the series in sequence is the “common sense” way. With most normal movies series it is, but this is not a normal series. For many of us who have seen the series, we know how the story goes. Some may be confused and others may understand the odd sequence of the series. But for those who are watching the series for the first time (and that they are making the 9th installment of the F&F series), I thought that I would recommend the best way to watch (and appreciate) the series.

Another Way To Watch

When you first start to watch the series, you should watch the first two movies, “The Fast & The Furious” and “2 Fast 2 Furious” in that order. These two movies introduce us to the main characters of the series. When you get to the third movie “The Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift”, put that aside. The next movies to watch, in order, are “Fast & Furious”, “Fast Five” and “Fast & Furious 6”. Now is the time to watch “The Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift”. The reason being the story takes place after “Fast & Furious 6” (even though this is number 3 in the F&F series). That is all I will say. After all, I don’t want to spoil it for you. After that you can watch the last two movies, “Furious 7” and “The Fate (F8) Of The Furious”. After that, you will be caught up in the series, anxiously awaiting for the 9th movie to be released.

So, in conclusion, here is the order that I think you should watch the series:

  1. The Fast & The Furious (Movie 1)
  2. 2 Fast 2 Furious (Movie 2)
  3. Fast & Furious (Movie 4)
  4. Fast Five (Movie 5)
  5. Fast & Furious 6 (Movie 6)
  6. The Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift (Movie 3)
  7. Furious 7 (Movie 7)
  8. The Fate (F8) Of The Furious (Movie 8).

Have fun watching.
