Venom Finally Getting His Own Movie
Venom, one of Spider-mans biggest nightmares, looks like he will be finally getting his own movie.
Rumors about a venom movie have been circling for almost as long as they have been making Spider-man movies, but it finally looks as though it could be happening. A spin-off Venom movie to the two previous incarnations of a Spider-man universe always got scrapped or shelved after each incarnation of the web-slinger failed.
Let’s not include the fiasco of Spider-man 3 which decided to throw a Venom origin into the mix of an already over-populated movie that included the Sandman, the Green Goblin and a black suit wearing Spider-man (which is a whole story in itself).
Venom was always a straight up villain, being one of Spider-mans greatest foes and one of the few people who knew who Spider-man really was. They had some amazing and intense battles over the years but the popularity of the character turned Venom into more of an anti-hero.
The planned Venom movie is not likely to be set in the new Spider-man universe starring Tom Holland as the newest face of the wall crawler, Venom would likely be set in his own universe. Alex Kurtzman has been rumored to be attached to this movie, but that seems unlikely as he is currently working on a new Mummy movie.
As we get more information about the Venom movie we will be sure to pass it on.
