INTERNET EXCLUSIVE BOW FOR NYC-LENSED SHORT FILM
Summer with Mrs. Von Mausch, a short film written and directed by award-winning filmmaker David Pomes, is set to have its Internet premiere on Vimeo.
Summer with Mrs. Von Mausch is about a 13-year-old girl (Molly Learner) whose divorced father (Mr. Pomes) is ill-prepared for his daughter’s New York City visit — and for her developing an unlikely friendship with the eccentric next-door neighbor Mrs. Von Mausch (Annie McGreevey).
The short film was made on location in and around Manhattan’s elegant Upper East Side, linking it thematically to classic young-adult stories from both literature and movies. With humor and poignancy, Summer with Mrs.
Von Mausch is a timely yet timeless tale of moving past loneliness and isolation, as two entirely different women bridge the generation gap and affirm their individuality.
Summer with Mrs. Von Mausch is David Pomes’ first short film. His feature-length screenwriting and directing debut was Cook County (2008), which won best feature awards from The Hollywood Film Festival and AFI Dallas; and won Audience Awards at SXSW and the Nashville Film Festival. Cook County starred Anson Mount, Xander Berkeley, and Ryan Donowho.
