Star Trek Beyond Gets Reshoots To Add Shohreh Aghdashloo To The Cast

Star-Trek-Beyond

Star Trek Beyond is set to ‘beam’ into theaters July 22 but that hasn’t stopped Justin Lin, director of the movie, has gone back into production for reshoots with the cast in order to add Academy Award nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo.

Shohreh Aghdashloo will be playing a member of the Fedderation High Command, so it is likely that there will only be one or two scenes that need reshooting and the film is on course for a July release.

In 2003 Shohreh Aghdashloo starred in House of Sand and Fog, for which she won a string of awards and was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards, the first Iranian woman to do so.

The third Star Trek movie has had its fair share of ups and downs as Robert Orci’s concept was dramatically changed and caused major rewrites to the movie. However, despite the problems the production is still managing to star on course for its scheduled release date.

If all goes well we can expect Star Trek Beyond in theaters July 22 and if you need any more of a Star Trek fix there is a new TV series coming in the new year.
