Fortunately, both father and son have staunch allies in the form of accomplice Lucas (Joel Edgerton) and the former’s ex-wife Sarah (Kirsten Dunst). A thrilling adventure gets underway as the group attempt to get Alton to a safe haven. Having drawn wide-eyed comparisons to the early movies of Steven Spielberg, this emotional and engrossing sci-fi movie is the latest striking work from indie darling Jeff Nichols, director of the acclaimed Mud and Take Shelter.

Hardcore HenryA man must rescue his wife from a band of mercenaries in this unique first-person action movie. In this highly original movie, we see everything from the point of view of Henry, a soldier resurrected from the brink of death who remembers nothing about his old life. Awoken by his wife (Haley Bennett) he soon finds himself being shot at before his wife is kidnapped. Held hostage by a group of mercenaries headed up by a warlord by the name of Akan (Danila Kozlovsky), Henry must fight to get her back. This unique movie headlines Chappie star Sharlto Copley and is written and directed by newcomer Ilya Naishuller. The entire movie is shot as if it were a first-person-shooter game, making it one of the most immersive films ever made. You’ve never seen anything like Hardcore Henry.


The Jungle Book – 15 April 2016

The Jungle BookIron Man director Jon Favreau re-invents Disney’s classic for a whole new generation. Orphaned ‘man cub’ Mowgli (Neel Sethi) has been raised by wolves Raksha (Lupita Nyong’o) and Akela (Giancarlo Esposito) deep within the Indian jungle. However, Mowgli’s life is threatened by ferocious, man-eating tiger Shere Khan (Idris Elba). With the help of jaguar mentor Bagheera (Ben Kingsley) and loyal bear Baloo (Bill Murray), Mowgli must discover the strength to embrace his destiny and stand up to the fearsome Khan once and for all. Rudyard Kipling’s beloved novel was adapted by Disney into their classic 1967 animation, and now Iron Man filmmaker Jon Favreau gives Kipling’s tale a thrilling new makeover. Mixing live-action performance with cutting-edge CGI, this promises to be a visually spectacular and exciting family adventure, one featuring an all-star voice cast that also includes Scarlett Johansson as snake Kaa and Christopher Walken as orangutan leader King Louie.


Criminal – 15 April 2016

CriminalA death row inmate absorbs another man’s memories in this taut, suspenseful thriller. Jericho Stewart (Kevin Costner) is a dangerous ex-con serving a life sentence on death row.

However, he may unwittingly be the CIA’s only hope of foiling a deadly terrorist plot, one that’s already claimed the life of agent Bill Pope (Ryan Reynolds). Stewart is chosen as the guinea pig for a groundbreaking procedure whereby Pope’s memories, secrets and skills are implanted into his body, allowing the criminal to use the dead man’s knowledge and complete the mission. However the lines between Stewart and Pope become increasingly blurred, especially when the former makes contact with the latter’s widow Jill (Gal Gadot). As chaos ensues, it remains unclear whether Stewart will succeed.

This action-packed thriller makes dramatic use of British locations and features an all-star supporting cast including Gary Oldman and Tommy Lee Jones.


The Huntsman: Winter’s War – 22 April 2016

But the magic mirror reveals that her sister, Queen Freya (Emily Blunt), is to bear a child who will become even more attractive. This leads to a terrible betrayal that unleashes Freya’s incredible powers. With her heart hardened, she retreats to a stunning ice palace to raise an army of warriors. But two of her best fighters – Eric (Chris Hemsworth) and Sara (Jessica Chastain) – disobey her command never to fall in love.

Directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, who created the amazing visual effects for Snow White and the Huntsman, and shot on location in the UK, this thrilling prequel pits the evil monarchs against one another in an incredible showdown of rival magic.
