Smash – A Short Drama Film
A small snigger from her girlfriend, Lucy, is the trigger for the beginning of an intense argument. Whilst Lucy isn’t engaging in it, Shereen takes action by throwing away the sandwich she barely touched. Lucy attempts not to get sucked into Shereen’s attempts to have a full blown-argument but, in the end, she is sucked in and it all comes out.
Lucy takes it too far as her pent up anger leads to a smashed glass and then the final blows in their argument are dealt, with Shereen casting her partner out the house and Lucy gladly being willing to end this relationship. That is until they see what is currently happening on the news.
A five minute short film from filmmaking friends Scott Piggott (Writer/Director) and Matt Ashwell (Producer) released on the year anniversary of Boris Johnson sending England into lockdown. The filmmaking pair working under the small production company Coup The Duke (with which is their first proper release) made this one-shot film that has to be seen the whole way through to really understand where it is going.
The film was shot during the lockdown and followed the COVID guidelines for filming at this time.
