Shriekfest 2016 – The Winners
Shriekfest, the Los Angeles International Film Festival & Screenplay Competition was a huge success! Denise Gossett, festival director, once again hosted Shriekfest Oct 6-9th at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood. Shriekfest screened 52 films and had 30 screenplay finalists.
Gossett says “I’m so very proud of all of these talented people. It is an honor to know them.”
Capture Kill Release directed by Nick Mcanulty & Brian Allan Stewart took the Grand Jury prize for Best Horror Feature Film, Occupants directed by Russ Emanuel took the Best Sci-Fi Feature Film Award, and Dead Awake directed by Phillip Guzman took the Best Thriller Feature Film Award.
The Cleansing Hour directed by Damien LeVeck took the Best Horror Short Film Award, FlySpy directed by Daniel M Smith won the Best SciFi Short Film Award and The Maiden directed by Michael Chaves took the best Super Short Film Award.
The winner of the Best Horror Feature Screenplay went to Wolves at the Door written by Pardeep Aujla, the winner of the Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Feature Screenplay goes to The Conspiracy Smith written by Chad Allan Jones, and the winner of the Best Thriller Feature Screenplay goes to The Bride in the Box written by Doug Bost.
