SEVEN TITLES CONFIRMED FOR INAUGURAL EIFF WORKS IN PROGRESS EVENT

Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) has today unveiled the seven projects participating in the inaugural EIFF Works in Progress showcase event. Taking place on Sunday 19th June, the one day event will connect emerging filmmakers with the wider industry, as each project aims to fulfill its ambitions to reach completion, festival selection, or theatrical release.
Invited international sales agents, distributors, producers, and festival programmers will have the opportunity to cast their eyes over a selection of quality narrative British feature film projects at production or post-production stage, with all projects currently seeking an international sales agent.
The full list of selected projects:
· PROVENANCE, dir. Ben Hecking and Christian McKay
· HOW YOU LOOK AT ME, dir. Gabriel Henrique Gonzalez
· HE LOVES ME, dir. Konstantinos Menelaou
· SUZI Q, dir. Liam Firmager
· THE GAEL KING, dir. Philip Todd
· ELEMENTAL, dir. Alan De Pellette
· THE RECEPTIONIST, dir. Jenny Lu
Each project will present a short pitch to invited industry professionals – showcasing trailer footage and film clips to give attendees a first ahead-of-the-game look – before a series of one-on-one meetings take place to enable producers the opportunity to discuss their projects with interested parties in further detail.
EIFF Works in Progress is the latest initiative from the Festival supporting the development of the UK film industry. The festival’s talent development programmes for new and emerging writers, directors, and producers have been running since 2010, and have seen many of their alumni go on to enjoy successful careers in the industry.
