National Lampoon Coming to Netflix

Domhnall Gleeson has been pretty busy recently. After featuring in ‘The Revenant’ and ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ he is going for something a little more light-hearted joining Will Forte in ‘A Futile And Stupid Gesture’ the biopic on National Lampoon co-founder Douglas Kenney where he will play the other co-founder, Henry Beard. Joel McHale has also signed on to play Chevy Chase and it looks like John Gemberling could be playing John Belushi.
Netflix is behind ‘A Futile And Stupid Gesture’ and they have given it a budget thought to be between $15 – $20 million.
Douglas Kenny met Henry Beard while he was editor of the Harvard Lampoon and together they created National Lampoon which became a major force in comedy during the 1970’s – 1980’s. Kenney ended up dying in mysterious circumstances after falling off a cliff in Hawaii after having a number of drug and alcohol issues.
There is currently no date on when it will arrive.
