Narcos – Season 2 Review
Holy moly. This season upped the ante in almost every way. It delivered more action, more Pablo Escobar and more definition to the show. Remember this was never just about Pablo Escobar. Cocaine, how it destroys lives physically and mentally. Through that substance our heroes, despite never coming into contact with any of it, break down.
A common theme of any good crime movie, or TV Show is escalation.
‘Things will get worse, before they get better.’
This season picks up with Pablo Escobar’s ‘escape’ from prison, we are shown a man and his final days.
Wagner Moura, still in top form as Escobar adds another layer to his character, in early scenes of the season.
One thing lacking in the freshman season was empathy for the audience, we weren’t allowed to feel the damage the city’s suffering. Simply because there were no random characters, everyone had a significant social standing, from a TV reporter, to DEA Agent, to friggin’ Drug Kingpin.
They wipe that out this time around in episode 7. I stepped outside of my house as that episode ended.
