McConaughey and Elba on Board For The Dark Tower
Rumors have surrounded Stephen King’s ‘The Dark Tower’ for what seems like an eternity.
The unfilmed novel be Stephen King has had numerous actors and directors attached to it at one point or another, but nothing definite has ever been established. J.J. Abrams and Ron Howard have both been set to direct at one point and Russell Crowe was seemingly on board at another.
However, things have picked up pace with Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba have both been cast in lead roles with Stephen King himself confirming this on Twitter. According to Stephen King, McConaughey looks set to play ‘The Man in Black’ and Elba will be playing Roland Deschain. Abbey Lee (Mad Max: Fury Road) has also been cast as the female lead Tirana.
The Dark Tower has been given a release date of January 13, 2017, so expect production to start very soon.
