Margot Robbie Looking to Play Olympic Skater

Margot Robbie is looking to bring “The Whack Heard Round The World” to the big screen with I, Tonya. The movie will look at the scandal from the the side of Tonya Harding. Steven Rogers has wrote the script after speaking with both Nancy Harding and her ‘then husband’ Jeff Gillooly. Robbie is looking to both star and produce.
For anyone unfamiliar with the story which made headlines around the world, in 1994 Harding and her husband conspired to attack Nancy Kerrigan, a rival skater, during the qualifying rounds for the US Figure Skating Championships in Detroit, which was part of the selection process for the Olympics. Gillooly, with the help of Shawn Eckardt and Shane Stant attempted to break the leg of Kerrigan and the attack was partly caught on camera. the attack ultimately failed and Kerrigan still got to the Olympics and ended up with a silver medal. Harding finished the Olympics in eighth place and was eventually banned from skating for life.
No more word on the project but as soon as we know anything we will pass it on.
