Kitty Mammas Trailer
Dennis Nicholson’s debut feature film, Kitty Mammas, is a rare high-concept mockumentary that is quirky and heart-warming. Kitty Mammas chronicles a breakthrough medical trial led by mild-mannered Dr. Han in which four very different women come together and grow, while being pregnant with & giving birth to adorable Maine-Coon kittens!
Katrina Nicholson, Dennis’ sister and creative collaborator penned a lovely script that is underpinned by heart and a strong sense of family. It’s a uniques story that understands subtle comedy and provides plenty of room for the talented cast to breathe life into the characters.
Nicholson always envisioned Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Kim’s Convenience, The Mandalorian) as the lead of Kitty Mammas and worked with screenwriter Katrina Nicholson to create a character explicitly for Lee. Paul Sun-Hyung Lee was involved in the project from the early days and truly delivers a nuanced performance alongside a rock-star
ensemble cast.
Janet Porter (The Hardy Boys, upcoming Resident Evil), Kathryn Kohut (Love at Look Lodge), Morgan Kohan (When Hope Calls), and Vienna Hehir (Rising Suns) have incredible chemistry with one another and are a delight to watch on screen.
Dennis Nicholson and cinematographer Kelly Durrant worked diligently to create an optimistic visual style that fit the film’s tone like a matching puzzle piece. Kitty Mammas is Kelly’s debut feature film as a cinematographer and she proves herself to be a true up-and-coming talent.
We are proud to highlight Kelly’s work as a first-class cinematographer and also as a woman in this field. It was important for us to assemble a group of talented cast and crew that reflected the diversity of the film’s setting Toronto, Canada. Inclusivity is one of the film’s most prominent themes and we wanted to reflect that on-screen and behind the camera.
