Garth Davis’s latest project, Mary Magdalene, is currently in pre-production and he wants Joaquin Phoenix to play Jesus. Rooney Mara is already on board as Mary Magdalene.
The movie will take a closer look at the life of Mary Magdalene based on a script by Helen Edmundson and Philippa Goslett which looks set to give an authentic look at one of the most enigmatic figures in religion with an image that has been constantly reinvented throughout the years.. The team behind ‘The King’s Speech’ are producing.
A movie about religion is guaranteed to cause controversy in one way or another so expect some complaints about this one.
