Hidden Figures Gaining Momentum

Hidden Figures has recently been getting attention by announcing its cast including Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer and Kevin Costner, but they have just added another member to the space race movie, singer and actress Janelle Monáe.
The movie is based on Margot Lee Shetterly’s ‘Hidden Figures: The Story Of The African-American Women Who Helped Win The Space Race’ that will be hitting the shelves in September. Ted Melfi is signed to direct the film and Allison Schroeder has been charged with converting the novel into a screenplay.
The story focuses on Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, three mathematicians who were the brains behind John Glenn’s trip into space in 1962 and becoming the first American to orbit the Earth.
