Hamill and Conroy Set for The Killing Joke

The Killing Joke

Any fan of Batman will be aware of the amazing animated series from the early nineties. Known as Batman: The Animated Series (or Batman: TAS for short) the show was revolutionary for its dark story telling, artistic quality and modernisation of the origins of Batman, and is widely considered as the best comic book cartoon of all time.

Two of the voice actors who made the show what it was, Kevin Conroy as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Mark Hamill as the Joker, will reprise their respective roles for the upcoming Batman animated feature ‘The Killing Joke’.

The Killing Joke was released in 1988 and its controversial storyline was first announced as non-cannon to the Batman series, but this changed as Barbara Gordon became Oracle. The excellent story by Alan Moore and artwork by Brian Bolland tell the origin story of The Joker in flashbacks. This is probably one of the most well known Batman stories and fans of the series have wanted this converted into a feature for some time.

Batman: The Killing Joke Will get its premier at this year’s Comic Con and will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray later in the Summer.
