Half Life and Portal Still Getting Hollywood Treatment
Video Games crossing over to movies have been popular since the birth of home computing but the results have been mixed at best. Still, studios press on attempting to capitalize of the popularity of gaming. Some gaming franchises sch as Resident Evil, Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat having multiple movies attempting to cash in at cinemas.
Back in 2013 J.J. Abrams mentioned his desire to work on movies based on the Half Life and Portal series but it has been pretty quiet since then. However the silence was broken in a recent interview with IGN about the recent release of 10 Cloverfield Lane. J.J. admitted that there were no plans to film any time soon but the movies were both in development and that the team were currently working on both stories.
Films based on computer games seem to be only gaining more speed as the Tomb Raider movies look to be getting a reboot, the release of Assassins Creed is on the horizon with a sequel apparently already planned and the Angry Birds movie also getting ready to be released in the coming months.
