Full Lineup Announced for the CUFF.Docs
The Calgary Underground Film Festival has announced the full lineup for CUFF.Docs, Calgary’s Documentary Film Festival, taking place at Globe Cinema Nov.17-20, 2016.
From a documentary about knitting to the Japanese cult band X JAPAN, to an exploration of if Holocaust jokes can really be funny, this year’s lineup covers a vast array of topics.
“Every year the diversity of documentary filmmaking is so strong in terms of the themes explored, styles and genres,” says Festival Director and Programmer Brenda Lieberman. “But what really sets this year’s lineup apart is how strong and impactful each and every one of these documentaries is.”
The four-day event featuring 12 feature-length documentaries will open with ACCIDENTAL COURTESY, in which musician Daryl Davis takes a journey across the United States, meeting and befriending members of the Ku Klux Klan – something few black men can say. Director Matt Ornstein will be in attendance and is available for interviews.
Director Ryan Steven Green is attending the Saturday night screening of THE HOLLYWOOD SHORTIES, a historical look at the birth of organized sports in the American dwarf community.
