Frikkin’ Independence Day Resurgence Movie Review

We bring back some of the same cast from the 1996 movie: Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, and Brent Spiner. It’s been 20 years, and the world wants to make sure it is ready for another alien attack. Everyone knew they aliens would seek their revenge. And they do! This time, the aliens in Independence Day Resurgence are bigger and badder than before. That’s because Earth kicked their alien butts!
The action is bigger, the aliens are bigger, the explosions are bigger in Independence Day: Resurgence. But did we really need Liam Hemsworth (Chris Hemsworth’s younger brother)? He’s introduced in the movie as the “bad boy” of the film. Sort of the replacement for Will Smith. But he’s not Will Smith. Then we have 2 other characters that are plopped in for some weird comic relief. It’s as if Roland Emmerich wanted to make an action film with a little more humor. But we don’t go to the movies to see actors make jokes. We want action!
