A Dog’s Purpose Summary & Review

We have all owned a dog at some point in our lives. We all love dogs, and they love us. They are perfect companions for when we need someone by our side. But the one thing we have never been able to figure out is, “What are our dogs thinking?” That is the subject of the new movie, A Dog’s Purpose, based on the novel by W. Bruce Cameron.
A Dog’s Purpose stars Josh Gad as the inner voice of a dog named Bailey, who was adopted by a young boy named Ethan. As they grew up, Ethan and Bailey were inseparable, until the day Bailey grew old and passed on. However, Bailey soon wakes up as a new puppy, in a new life. Through his many reincarnations, Bailey attempts to find out what his purpose in life is as he lives one life after another.
To start, I never believed in the controversy that arose when that video surfaced on TMZ. I knew from the start that we didn’t get the whole story. Now that I have seen the movie, I’m telling you: SEE IT. This movie is beautiful. It is hilarious, heart-breaking, and highly relatable if you have ever owned a dog. I don’t care what PETA says. They don’t have the whole story, and they are just trying to keep you away from this amazing movie.
The thing that I loved the most was the casting of Josh Gad. I thought he was perfect for the role of the dog’s inner thoughts. He has such a playful, goofy voice that matches how I think dogs really think. He really knew how to be both funny and sad at all the right moments. Even if it was a really sad scene, he would say something funny and I would laugh.
I thought this movie was perfect. Apart from the video, critics say that the movie does nothing but mess with your emotions. But isn’t that the point? It’s supposed to be sad when the dog dies, and funny when the dog says something goofy. That’s how it gets the best reaction out of you. Just see this movie. You will forget all about what PETA is fabricating.
