Dick Tracey Sequel Could Finally Be Happening
It has been over 25 years since Dick Tracey hit cinemas. Riding in on the tails of Tim Burton’s Batman, Warren Beatty produced, directed and starred in the movie, but it never seemed to catch on quite like Burton’s movie.
Now it looks like Beatty could be finally bringing a sequel he has long talked about.
At CinemaCon on Wednesday Warren Beatty was presenting an award to pal Arnold Milchan and was asked about the possible sequel, Beatty answered āIām serious about it, but I am slow about these things.ā
Although this is by no means concrete evidence that Dick Tracey is happening it does give us hope that something is in the works. Hopefully we could get a Dick Tracey sequel in the next few years.
The original movie included an all-star cast with celebrities such as Al Pacino, Madonna, Dick Van Dyke, Dustin Hoffman and James Caan but somehow failed to capture the attention of the audience which many felt it should have and only returned a small profit (returning $162.74 million from a $100 million budget).
Hopefully we will get more information on this possible sequel soon.
