DARTH MAUL: Apprentice – A Star Wars Fan-Film
Fan Films have always been popular, giving fans the opportunity to develop a film universe or characters from the movies with their own original stories and Star Wars has been one of the most popular subjects. Hundreds of Star Wars fan films are scattered over the internet of varying quality.
This short film, Darth Maul: Apprentice, has to be one of the best we have seen in a while. The story focuses on Darth Maul during his training days when a group of Jedi stumble onto his lair. If Darth Maul wants to keep his existence a secret he must destroy the Jedi.
Darth Maul was given a very small amount of screen time in The Phantom Menace to the disappointment of fans who describe as one of the few positives from the movie. These Star Wars fans have helped to give us all the Darth Maul fix we need and I am sure you will agree it is very impressive. The choreography could easily rival that of the Star Wars universe and the cinematography is very strong.
Shawn Bu who wrote, produced, directed & edited the short states on his YouTube page that the movie took almost two years to complete. Two years well spent in our opinion.
