Cloverfield Spawning a Universe
10 Cloverfield Lane, the spin-off from Cloverfield, is not hitting theaters until March 11th, but it hasn’t stopped JJ Abrams hinting of more possible movies in the future.
Rather than having direct sequels, it looks like the Cloverfield Universe could have different stories with different characters having different stories to tell, but all being set in the same universe. this does open the door to a lot of possibilities in the future.
The details are still sketchy at best with regards to 10 Cloverfield Lane. The impressive cast features John Goodman and Mary Elizabeth Winstead and started life as a script called “The Cellar” in 2008, but eventually turned into a Cloverfield spin-off.
What we do know is that a woman wakes up in an underground cellar after having a car accident. The man inside has told her he saved her life after a worldwide chemical attack which has left the surface of the Earth uninhabitable. However, unsure what to believe the woman decides she must escape.
