Captain Nemo Expecting to Return to our Shores

Captain Nemo is no stranger to our screens. He first appeared in ‘20,000 Leagues Under The Sea’ in 1916, Allan Holubar playing the Captain. Since that time numerous actors have attempted to take on the role including James Mason, Patrick Stewart and Michael Caine.
Disney now look like having another go at bringing the Captain back to the big screen, have previously made the movie ‘20,000 Leagues Under the Sea’ in 1954. James Mangold looks set to direct a new adaption of ‘20,000 Leagues Under the Sea’, the origin story of Captain Nemo. Mangold will take on the project once he has wrapped up Wolverine 3 so expect more updates in the near future.
What is also interesting to note is that Bryan Singer is also very interested in bringing the tale to the silver screen for 20th Century Fox, once he has finished X-Men:Apocalypse. There could be further twists in this tale if both movies were to be released at a similar time.
What if both of these movies were successful we could also see two versions of ‘Mysterious Island’, another tale featuring Captain Nemo.
There is also a reboot of ‘League of Extraordinary Gentlemen’ happening so we may be getting drowned in underwater adventures in the near future. As we know more, we will be sure to share it with you.
