Bubbles Gets His Own Stop-Motion Feature
There have been a number of rumors recently about the reported movie about Michael Jackson’s pet chimp Bubbles. Now Deadline have confirmed that a script about the celebratory simian a has been penned by Isaac Adamson has been acquired and will be turned into a stop motion animation.
Dan Harmon’s Starburns Industries production company, Andrew Kortschak and End Cue have gained rights to the movie. Harmon was executive producer on the much talked about Anomalisa, which was nominated at the Oscars for Best Animated Film, so is no stranger to stop motion animation.
Bubbles will tell the story of the chimp in order to give a close-up view of the life of Michael Jackson who adopted the him in 1983. Bubbles traveled the world with the King of Pop and when Jackson moved into the Neverland Mansion he had his own crib and slept in the same room as the singer. Bubbles lived in Michael’s Neverland Mansion until 2003 when he had matured into a large aggressive ape and was unsuitable as a companion to Jackson.
