Action Films Done Right [Video Essay by Jack Fitzpatrick]
What does it take for an action film to be considered a classic? What is it about these classics that keep us coming for more? And what are some of the problems with some of the modern action movies made today?
In my longest video yet – And first of the year – (WHICH TOOK ME FOOOOOORRR-FUCKING-EEEVVVERRR TO EDIT – PLEASE DON’T COPYRIGHT STRIKE ME ARGHH) I discuss all things action, and talk about some of my favorites and compare them to others which I consider to be examples of action movies that don’t quite work as well (I crap on Transformers quite a bit in this one despite the fact that I do kind of like some of them.)
So hopefully you, dear reader/viewer watch the whole thing and more importantly I hope you enjoy it! I hope all of the effort put into this video wasn’t a complete waste of my time, if not let me know! Tell me what you think of it and maybe even give me some advice on what you’d like to see in future videos. I had a lot of fun with this one and definitely plan to making more like it later on.
