Frankie Laine might not be talking about The Wild Bunch Film Festival when he sang, “Keep them doggies rollin’, rawhide.” But it’s a solid description of the three day international film festival in Willcox, Arizona October 20/22. And it’s more “films rolling” than “doggies” because it’s schedule is bubbling over with cinema that would make folks of the Wild West proud. The film festival directors are film producer Rock Whitehead and his wife, actress/screenwriter Brenda-Marie Whitehead: Filmmakers and actors are flying into southern Arizona from all over! It will feature a Celebrity VIP Dinner, Kickoff Party/Concert, Multiple Screenings, Celebrities, Red Carpet event, After-Party and more!
Friday Oct 20th: The festival starts with at 6:00pm with a Celebrity VIP Dinner at Studio 128 located next to the Willcox Historic Theater at 134 N Railroad, Willcox, Arizona 85643. Kick Off Party. Various Celebrity guest are expected to attend.
There will also be a Kickoff Party with door prizes and a concert that evening at 8:30pm with headliner Mark Duane from Tucson and Keith Perrillo from Phoenix.. along with special guest Allison Balson & Stone. Allison is best remembered for her role as Nancy Oleson from ‘Little House on the Prairie’.
Saturday Oct 21st: Indie western genre film screenings, Q&A’s at the Willcox Historic Theater (134 N Railroad) from 10:00am to 10:00pm. Celebrities that will be signing autographed photos, books, etc., through the weekend unless noted, will include (TWBFF Emcee, Actor and AZ film historian) Charlie LeSueur, Don Collier from “The High Chaparral”, Allison Balson (Fri & Sat only) from “Little House on the Prairie”, Tammy Locke (from “The Monroes” TV show and Rodney Allen Rippy who was young Sheriff Bart in “Blazing Saddles”. Celebrity availability are possible to change without notice.
Sunday Oct 22nd: Indie western genre film screenings all day at the Willcox Historic Theater (134 N Railroad) from 10am to ?. THE RED CARPET EVENT will begin at 6:00pm with a screening of Don Knotts movie, “The Shakiest Gun in the West”. The festival’s Keynote Speaker, Karen Knotts (Daughter of Don Knotts) will give a her speech about “Growing up with Don and Tall Tales from his western movie days. a short Q&A with the audience after her speech. The Festival Award Show will follow.
Sunday Oct 22nd: TWBFF AFTER-PARTY will be held at Cattlerest RV Park and Saloon from 10:30pm to 12:30am! See you there!!
