In the early 1970’s, I created two film history/appreciation courses at the community college at which I’ve spent my professional career. Now semi-retired, I teach just International Cinema, in which I introduce newcomers to the canonical foreign language films: Lumiere and Melies, German Expressionism and kammerspielfilms, French Poetic Realism, Italian Neorealism, Felllini, Bergman, Kurosawa, Nouvelle Vague. You know the drill.
I’m too old to fret about pride of authorship. I just want to publish something (” I Coulda been a contender…”) before I start drooling.
