Spider-Man: Homecoming is quickly building up momentum following Spidey’s first appearance in the Captain America: Civil War trailer. Tom Holland is playing the wall-crawler and Jon Watts (‘Clown’ and ‘Cop Car’) will be directing a screenplay written by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the duo behind ‘Vacation’. Zendaya has also been cast as a friend of Peter Parker.
Joining the team will be Laura Harrier and Tony Revolori, both will be playing friends of Parker. HArrier is best known for her role in the drama series ‘One Life to Live’ and Relolori’s credits include ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ and ‘The 5th Wave.
Michael Keaton has also been rumored to be in talks to play the villain in the movie.
The plot of the film is unknown but it is believed to be a cross between a John Hughes movie and a superhero one, concentrating on Parker’s early years while still in high school, however this is not going to be an origin story. A relief considering we have had to Spidey origin stories in cinemas since 2002.
Spider-Man: Homecoming will be in cinemas July 7, 2017.
