Hello Fellow Filmigos! Another month is here and that means another movie! This month, we are reviewing The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2. The longest title ever, which is probably a metaphor for the movie.
Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) picks up right where she left off in Mockingjay Part 1. Did they really need to break this into 2 movies? We all know it is the worst book of the series! Either way, Katniss and crew are ready to take on the Capitol and President Snow. Peeta (Josh Hutchenson) joins the group, but can he be trusted since he was brainwashed to whack Katniss?
Who is Katniss going to choose: Peeta or Gale? These are some of the questions that pop up during the movie. Although the main focus Katniss and her struggles about killing more people. Who can blame her? Several rounds of The Hunger Games and watching her friends die AND trying to stay alive really takes a toll on the ol’brain bucket.
Overall, it’s a decent film. Some interesting action sequences. One of them seems like a homage to the movie ALIEN. But I will let you decide. The pacing is slow at times, and it has one of the Lord of Rings endings that just keeps going and going. I actually shed a tear when the Rings Trilogy ended. At the end of this series, I slowly woke up and yawned.
