Jurassic World movie review

Movie Rating:

Yo, guys, I know it’s been a while, but I’ve been busy lately. So I finally saw Jurassic World and……. whoa.

I really actually don’t wanna go to into detail on this one. Probably because A) You’ve seen the movie now and B) if you haven’t seen it you really should go see it. Suffice it to say that it’s a really fun summer movie. It’s not really a masterpiece, but it’s definitely fun. This actually might be brainless filmmaking at it’s best. A movie that has it’s priority’s in place and doesn’t really care much about what else it does just so much as the audience comes out having a good time.

The writing is serviceable and usually quite funny, the characters are relatable even if they’re characterized very broadly, the action is fun and always willing to go over the top whenever it feels necessary (aka, most of the last act), and it does have a heart when it needs too. My few complaints with the movie are that, well, there’s really not too much original going on here in terms of story-telling or direction. And although the CGI is very well done, it never feels as immersive as it wants to. Still, all things considered, it’s yet another fun ride too add to the pile of great summer movies we’ve had so far, and worth checking out if you’re interested.
