Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy

Sometimes movies come along that just stink of awesomeness, and this is most definately one of them.

This has to be Will Ferrell's best and most-loved movies, and the one that he is best known for, and for good reason to. This movie is a non-stop laugh from start to finish, the laughs keep on coming and never stop, and has a fantastic array of cameo's including Liam Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller and Jack Black.

The movie takes place in the 1970's and focus on the news teams that were male dominated at the time. Ron Burgundy is the number on announcer in San Diego and loved by the whole of the city. Basically he is the ultimate news anchor, and being in the 1970's he likes to party hard and play the Jazz-Flute. He struggles to come to terms with a woman anchor, Veronica Corningstone, who he not only has to work with, but has also fallen in love with, which results in his crack team of retarded news men in a lot of trouble.

This makes for some fantastic viewing and great antics as they try to outdo each other, and distract the other one from reading the news. Not only that, but they also have to face off against the other news teams. Many of the jokes are left-field and gender related, as they poke fun at themselves and each other.

I think all of these actors must be great mates in real life as they seem to get on tremendously and the chemistry is amazing, the lines just seem to flow between each naturally, and I wouldn't be surprised if alot of the stuff in the movie was just ad'libbed.

I am trying to think of some bad points to this movie, but there aren't really any. It does exactly what it sets out to do, make you laugh your socks off. Ok, so the plot is pretty week, it is completely unrealistic, but that doesn't matter because it is so awesome.

This movie is best watched with a bunch of friends and a few beers.

Stay Classy San-Diego.

Best comedy of the 2000s

Ok maybe there are funnier ones but i'd rank this one in the top 5 at least. It never fails to make me laugh and it's endlessly quotable dialoge is some of the best written comedy i've seen. You just don't know what comes next.
