I am Sam is a movie about a relationship between father and daughter. The difference being father has an intelletual capability of a seven-year-old and the daughter is eight years old.

Sean Penn and Dakota Fanning how acted in this movie, what a great acting. The bonding between Sean Penn and Dakota Fanning is pretty amazing. They are supported by Michelle Pfeiffer and Laura Dern.

The story goes like this, Sean Penn‘s girlfriend, I think is giving birth to a child, and then she hands it off to him and runs away, who is basically a retard. Now he doesn’t know how to look after the baby. He goes to his neighbor for help, she takes petty and helps him. Now the child is eight years old and then Sean Penn still treats the child like a baby because as I mentioned, he himself has the capability of seven-year-old kid. So there are a lot of twists and turns which leads them to a courtroom scene, where the judge decides that the child should be grown for in a foster family. What happens after this and how Sean Penn reunites with Dakota Fanning forms the rest of the story.

We have come to know Sean Penn from movies like 21 grams and Mystic River. He’s an amazing actor, in this movie proves it again. I have become one of the great fans of Dakota Fanning after this movie and Men on Fire. These 2 actors make a great chemistry in this movie.

In tamil there was a movie called Deiva Thirumagal, starring Vikram. After seeing I am Sam, I felt Deiva Thirumagal, was a spoof. Seriously, I don’t understand why Indian movies are so dramatized. They should treat audience as intelligent people.

To conclude, I enjoyed and Sam. It is a Netflix_I am Sam rent a DVD and watch it today. I hope that this review was helpful to you.
