5 other aniticipated movies of 2015

Chappie movie review

So a few months back I did my top 10 most anticipated movies of 2015 list. I really should’ve waited till 2015 was closer, but I didn’t. And now I wanna bring up this topic again because, well, I’m bored again. So I’m going to do something of an honorable mentions list. Now I’ll just get this out of the way, some of these movies I may not actually go out and see, these are more of movies that look like they have promise and that I’ll be keeping my eye on. So here we go.

#5 – Kingsmen: The Secret Service

Kingsmen: The Secret Service

This movie already seems doomed to fail because it’s being released on the same day as 50 Shades of Grey. (side rant: screw you 50 Shades of Grey, screw you and your die hard fanbase which seems to defy all logic that something as poorly written your book would become one of the top selling books of all time because people are perverts) So I have an idea people, why don’t give any and all support possible to this movie? Why not? It’s directed by Mathew Vaugne, the director of X-men: First Class, it stars Samuel L. Jackson as the villain and Colin Firth as spy dude who really looks like he’s going to be the coolest spy since Bond himself, it’s British, the trailers look awesome, I seriously think it’s going to be our duty to give this movie a chance! Please?

#4 – St. James Place

Steven Spielberg is directing a movie written by the Coen brothers about an incident in the cold war. Do I really have to say anything else? Steven Spielberg is possibly the most respected director on the planet. The Coen brothers have written and directed some of my favorite movies. Is there any reason this will not get showered with Oscars? Not from my perspective.

#3 – Jupiter Ascending

Jupiter Ascending movie review

Is it a good sign that this movie got delayed till February? Probably not. Is it a good sign that the last movie the Wachowskis was Cloud Atlas, a movie that from my perspective divided a lot of people’s opinions? Also probably not. Does this mean that the movie still doesn’t look like something strait out of a kids imagination if he just watched Star Wars and Lord of the Rings back to back. Nope. Will it probably be as awesome as it looks? I’m not even sure if it’s humanly possible to make something that awesome. But then again these are the people who made The Matrix. Oh well. Here’s hoping!

#2 – Chappie

So this seems a little odd that the person that directed something like District 9 would go do something so familiar as make your typical “robot learns the meaning of humanity,” but leave it to Neil Blomkamp to make it look so freaking new. Seriously, I just can’t stop watching the trailer for this thing! It’s like E.T. If E.T. crashed in a European suburb. And was a robot. THIS MOVIE LOOKS REALLY COOL!

#1 – Mad Max: Fury Road

Mad Max Fury Road movie review

I’m only familiar with Mad Max from reputation, so how exactly do you get me excited for it? Well for starters, you get to be one of the only movies at comic-con to actually have a trailer. Then you make that trailer be the coolest thing at comic-con. Then you say that your films going to basically be one huge car chase. Yep. I’m on board. Really looking forward to how this one turns out.

So are there any odd 2015 releases that you’re keeping your eye on? Which movie’s are you excited for? Let me know in the comments below, and I’ll see you next time.
