Goodfellas | Best Mob Movie of all Time

Being 100% Italian and from New York I always enjoy watching mob movies and I would venture to guess that I have seen just about every one their is.From The Godfather, to Casino and to Goodfellas, I never miss a chance to watch a good mob flick.
In Goodfellas Deniro, Pesci, and Liotta do an amazing job working together and the fact that they had Martin Scorsese telling them what to do did not hurt in shaping them into what movie audiences would believe are actual mobsters.
The flick starts out with young Henry Hill (Ray Liotta) working for big time mobsters, moving cars, making pizza, delivering messages and such. His teenage life is culminated in the fact that he wants to be a gangster and he does just that. While doing work for the mob boses he meets Tommy Devito (Joe Pesci) whom he would up working with for the rest of his life. The movie does a great job of mirroring just what it was like being a mobster in the Italian mafia hay day of the 60’s and 70’s in New York.
As the movie progresses Henry, Tommy and Jimmy (Robert DeNiro) embark on greater crimes such as robbing from the airport killing made guys and other things that bother brought them up the ladder but would also send them spiraling down it if things got out of hand.
The best part about this movie was the fact that it was based on a true story, meaning that it was not all the Hollywood glitz and glamour, rather what you saw is what really happened during those days. For me this movie is an absolute staple in my library, I saw it for the first time when I was 16 and have seen it over 100 times since then.
If you have not already seen it, Iwould highly recommend checking it out, especially if you enjoyed Casino, Scarface, or the Godfather (all parts)
